Miss Lena May Sparks died Thursday at the old family home on Charles St. when 
she suffered a stroke.  Although she had been inactive for 25 years, death came 
suddenly.  She was born Oct. 12, 1882 in Keene township, the daughter of 
Alpheus and Weltha Sparks.  She was a nurse in Cleveland State hospital for 15 
years, a member of the Methodist church and a former member of the Order of 
Eastern Star in that city.  She is survived by two brothers, Bert of Hines, 
Ore., and Clarence of this city.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 at Ellis Funeral Home with Rev. H. S. 
Ellis officiating and burial was in River Ridge cemetery.  Pallbearers were 
Floyd Sparks, Alden Sparks, Vern Scott, Dell Scott, Frank Rowe and Edwin 
Bakeman.
