George was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ionia and a retiree of Diebold with 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; and sisters, Mary and Ruth. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Bobbie Dines Sparks; children, Rebecca and Paul Thomson, Anthony and Lynda)Sparks, Matthew and Shilah Sparks, Bobbie’s children, Sandy and Mike Blount, Larry Dines, Linda and Jeff Winters, Tammy and Gary)Youngs, Sherri and Bob Hughes; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Shirley and William Jones and Sally Sparks. A memorial service is Sunday at 3 p.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 721 Elmwood St., Ionia with Pastors Karl Tsatalbasidis and Ken Harger officiating. The family will receive visitors in church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
