Ionia Standard - 14 April 1905
Claribel Chase Spaulding was born on October 17, 1884, and passed to the great 
mysterious beyond on March 26, 1905, after a short illness which terminated in 
double pneumonia.  Deceased lived with her mother in the family of Mr. and 
Mrs. Jerry Spaulding, Ionia township, from the time she was a year old, where 
she was given the kindliest of parental adoration and care and because of 
which fact she adopted the name Spaulding.

At the time of her death she was living in Boston, Mass. in the home of 
Wickliff Spaulding, in whose office she was employed since last June.  The two 
years previous to this she spend in Oakland, Cal., to which place she was soon 
to return to become the bride of a Mr. Wilbur Grey.

Her funeral was held on Saturday, April 1st, at the Jerry Spoulding home.  The 
flowers from Boston, Oakland and many other friends were profuse and very 
beautiful.
