Belding Banner-News, 21 Jul 1962

Roy Spaulding, 72, route two, Belding, died Friday, July 8, at Blodgett
hospital, Grand Rapids, following a lingering illness.   He was born in Big
Rapids, Michigan, February 22, 1894.  He lived in the Orleans Township most of
his lifetime as a farmer.  He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Good
Fellowship Club.

He was married in Orleans, September 29, 1917 to Hazel Gardner.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel; his mother, Anna McQuire Spaulding; a daughter,
Mrs. Charles (Donna) Johnson, Belding; a son, Perry Spaulding, Belding; also
seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive.

Funeral services were Sunday, July 10, at Huffman Funeral Home, Belding, with
Rev. Wilford Wood of the First Congregational Church officiating.  Interment was
in Orleans Cemetery.  Pallbearers were: T. P. Holland, Lester Hulbert, George
Doty, Leslie Doty, Richard Bird and Paul Trebian.
