Hastings Reminder, Sat. June 26, 2021

Janet E. Spaulding, age 63, of Lake Odessa, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021, 
at her home.

Janet was born in Petoskey February 18, 1958, a daughter of the late Mary (Dyer) 
and Eber Bolinger. She was raised in the Cheboygan area and attended local 
schools there. She graduated in 1976.

She was the wife of  Michael Spaulding. The couple were married in their home in 
Hastings, where they lived for several years. After spending a few years in 
South Carolina they returned to Michigan, establishing their new home in Lake 
Odessa.

Janet was a caring woman that put up a hard exterior but had a loving and caring 
heart. Once you got past that she would do anything she could to help. Janet was 
always putting the needs of others before her own. In her spare time Janet 
enjoyed caring for her husband, their pets and working in the flower garden. 

Janet is survived by her beloved husband, Michael, her children, Chad Howell of 
Hastings, Heather (Jared) Main of Madison, WI, Amanda (Russell) Mishler of Big 
Rapids; grandchildren, Hayden and Ruby Main, Owen and Evan Mishler; her sister, 
Twyla and brother-in-law, Don Landon of Cheboygan, nephews, Scott (Joanna) 
Landon, Matthew (April) Landon, Michael Landon, many cousins, especially of the 
Bolinger family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 
Pleasantview Family Church with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. 

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral service beginning 
at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Pleasantview Family Church.

Interment will take place in Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine.
