The Ionia Weekly Standard, Friday, August 13, 1915
The ashes of Mrs. Cheney Spaulding, a pioneer of North Plains, who died last 
week in Grand Rapids, were returned to earth on Monday in the North Plains 
cemetery, following cremation of the body in Detroit.  Mr. and Mrs. N. J. 
Spaulding of this city attended, and the following from Grand Rapids: Mr. and 
Mrs. M. S. Keeler, Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Keeler, Isaac L. Keeler, M. S. Keeler, 
Wm. C. Clark, wife and Earl Clark, also Mrs. Geo. L. Keeler of Portland, 
Oregon, and Capt. Blackburn of Tennessee.  

Rev. A. W. Wishart of Grand Rapids accompanied the party, which came by 
automobile from Grand Rapids, and conducted services at the grave.  The ashes 
were received at Muir from the Detroit crematory.
