The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, August 5, 1946
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:30 for Mrs. Lulu 
Spaulding who died at her home in Lyons township.  Prayer services were held 
at the home with services following at 2 o’clock form the Lyons Baptist church 
by the Rev. Faulkner Mercer.

Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Wilbert Bennett and Mrs. Ralph Kimball.  Music 
was by Mrs. George Steadman and Plyn Woodruff accompanied by Mrs. Walter Green 
at the piano.  The Lyons OES attended in a body as an honorary escort.  
Pallbearers were Ralph Kimball, Ernest Ludwick, Donald Fletcher, Robert 
Lowrey, Elwood Stout and Thane Dennis.  Burial was in the East Plains cemetery.

Attending from out of town were Mrs. Grazier, Mrs. Herbert Burghdoff, Mr. and 
Mrs. Archie Burghdoff and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Burghdoff of Lansing and 
Mrs. Bertha O’Neil and family of Ypsilanti.
