Spaulding was held at the family home in Lyons Sunday afternoon, the services being by Rev. D. L. Martin of this city. The selection of scripture passages, regarding the immortality of the soul were admirably chosen, and the whole service was impressive in its solemnity. The Masonic service was by Lyons Lodge No. 37, which body turned out 60 strong, under charge of Chauncey J. Rumsey, worshipful master. During the services at the house Mrs. McQuillan read a short history of decedent’s life. The bearers were Drs. Alton, Dellenbaugh, Weston, Grant, DeVore and Strachan. The grand chapter was represented by Thos. H. Williams, grand high priest, of Jackson; Lewis C. Goodrich, grand Lecturer, Ann Arbor; Chas. A. Conover, grand secretary, Coldwater, Palmer H. Taylor, grand captain of the hosts, Ionia; and James F. McGregor, grand sentinel, Detroit.
