Speckin, 83, of Lowell passed away Aug. 7, 2001 at Cumberland Manor in Lowell. She was born July 26, 1918 in Lowell, the daughter of Myron and Gladys (Callier) Kyser. She lived all her life in Boston Township. She was a 1936 graduate of Lowell High School. She was an avid gardener and active environmentalist. She loved to travel, listen to music, dance and read. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Saranac. Surviving are her children, Sandra Jeanne (Mike) Hawkins of California, Loretta (Lorrie) Je Rue of Lowell, Vaughn (Sonia) Vickery of Saranac, and Valerie Lordly of Arkansas; stepchildren, Ronald (Susan) Speckin of Ionia, Robert (Debra )Speckin of Greenville, Dennis Speckin of Ionia and Brian Speckin of Ionia; sisters, JoyceLyn (Dick) Chase of Lowell and Toni Haller of Lowell; sister-in-law, Jane (Mill) Wieczorek of Sheridan; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenyon Vickery; and her second husband, Clair Speckin. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Galilee Baptist Church in Saranac with Rev. James Frank officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.
