Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 27 Jun 1972

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida P. Speckin, 66, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at
Myers-Roetman funeral home.  Rev. Raymond Heine of Trinity Lutheran church of
Grand Rapids will officiate and interment will be at Highland Park cemetery. 
Mrs. Speckin of 617 North Jackson died Monday at her home following an extended
illness.

Born in Ionia, December 1, 1905, she was the daughter of Harry T. Thwaites and
Ida Reiger Thwaites and was a lifelong resident of Ionia area.  She attended
Ionia schools and was married July 5, 1947 to Louis Speckin.  A member of
Trinity Lutheran church of Grand Rapids she also belonged to its Roth guild.

Surviving are two brothers, Melvin and Fred Thwaites of Ionia; three sisters,
Mrs. Florence Lindholm of Ionia, Mrs. Helen Owens of Indiana and Mrs. Virginia
Roberts of Ionia.  Her husband, Louis, preceded her in death in 1958.

Family will be at the Myers-Roetman funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been established.
