She was born on Dec. 14, 1956, in Greenville, the daughter of Leland Lawrence and Jacqueline Marie (Padgett) Zahm. Kim attended Belding Area Schools, graduating with the class of 1975. She completed college coursework, and worked most recently for Ionia Area Hospice as a certified nursing assistant. Kim was a very caring and strong-willed person, and truly found her niche working with hospice patients; in that, she worked diligently to ensure their care and comfort. She enjoyed time with family and friends, loved Christmas, and was a member of the American Legion and Ionia Moose Lodge. The memory of Kimberly will be cherished by her loving family, including her mother, Jacqueline M. Zahm of Belding; children, Timothy Lee Speckin of Ionia and Christina Marie Burch of Stanton; grandchildren, Madison Speckin, Jordan Butler, Aiden Butler, Jacob Santure and Sydney Speckin; siblings, Angela (David) Sailer of Belding, Mike (Brenda) Zahm of Ionia and Suzanne Nelson of Pewamo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many dear friends, including special friends Tim and Lisa Zylstra, Sam Harris and Tamara Shilton. She was preceded in death by her father, and an infant daughter, Jacqueline Marie Speckin. The family will host a Life Celebration gathering at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 1550 E. Colby Road, Stanton, Mich. 48888. Those wishing to express their sympathy through a memorial donation are welcomed to consider Ionia Area Hospice.
