Speckin, 55, former Ionia resident will be conducted by the Rev. George Nieman of Woodland from the Myers funeral home on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. He was born in Ionia October 15, 1894 and lived here practically all his life until he moved to Lansing in 1943. A Veteran of World War I, he enlisted in June 1916 and was discharged in May 1919. He leaves a wife, Lillian of Lansing; four children, Trina and Irene of Lansing; Mrs. Pauline Cable of Lansing and Donald of Hubbardston, and five grandchildren. He died Tuesday morning, September 26, at the Veterans hospital in Dearborn after being there for about six months. Subsequent Publication: Monday, October 2, 1950 Funeral services for Henry E. Speckin, 53, who died at the Dearborn Veteran’s hospital Tuesday, were conducted at the Myers funeral home Friday afternoon by the Rev. George Nieman of Woodland. Bearers were Lawrence, Harold, Lewis and Russell Martin, Judson Montgomery and Ralph Randall. Interment was in the family lot in Eaton cemetery. Mrs. Al Meisling had charge of the flowers. Frank Wirtz blew taps in tribute for the deceased who was a World War I veteran.
