Sunday morning. An attack of the “flu” followed by congestion of the lungs was given as the cause of death. Mrs. Spencer was the eldest daughter of James M. Kidd, Ionia pioneer resident, and was born in Ionia county in 1842. She lived here until about 35 years ago, when she went to Washington to make her home with her daughters, who have resided there for many years. She was the widow of Frank Spencer, a well-known Ionia resident 40 years ago. Mrs. Spencer leaves five children, Mrs. Katherine Merriett, Mrs. Florence McKeever of Washington; …[unreadable lines]… Harry E. Spencer, of …[unreadable] … leaves one brother, Hampton E.
