The Ionia Standard, Friday, February 8, 1889

Ezra Spencer, aged 68 years, shot himself twice in the head, at Lake Odessa, 
on Sunday evening last, and died at an early hour the next morning.  He leaves 
a wife and three children, the latter grown up and married.  He had long been 
a resident of south-west Ionia county, and was respected as a citizen.
