Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Sept. 19, 1995

IONIA- Margaret E. Spencer, 74 of Ionia died Monday, Sept. 18, 1995 at Ionia 
County Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 20, 1921 in Eagle, Mich., the daughter of Leo and Winnie 
(Brokaw) Kerr. She graduated from Portland High School and was married to 
Eugene Spencer, March 13, 1943 in Long Beach, Calif. She was a member of the 
Moose and VFW Auxiliary of Ionia and was very active in the Special Olympics 
and the Commission on Aging.

Surviving are daughters: Kay (Frank) Willis, of Westland, Mary (John) Root, of 
Orleans and Kim (Brian) Michael of Orleans; grandchildren: Jon Wooley, Jeffrey 
Willis and Autumn Root; sister, Sandra Royston of Portland and sister-in-law, 
Ardith Spencer, of Ionia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, her parents, brothers; Lowell 
and Harold Kerr, sister, Mildred and grandson, Joe Willis. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday Sept. 21, 1995 at the Koops 
Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. Interment will be in Niles Cemetery, in Eagle, 
Mich. Visitation will be Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 
p.m. to 4 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
