Ionia Sentinel-Standard -  Sat. May 13, 1967 & Wed. May 17, 1967

Mrs. Avis Spencer, 73, of 711 South Broas, Belding, died early Friday morning 
in Belding Community hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Otisco township, October 4, 1893, she lived her lifetime in the Belding 
area.

The former Avis Sussex, she was married to Glenn Spencer, December 24, 1913 and 
her husband survives her.

Also surviving are two daughters Mrs. Bernard LaBree of Rodney, Mrs. Winthrop 
Setchfield of Belding; two sons Gayle Spencer of Charlevoix and Richard Spencer 
of Belding; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Hale of Orleans, Mrs. Frank Johnson of 
Belding and Mrs. Leo Daller of Belding; six grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 pm at Fitzjohn-Courser funeral home in 
Belding with Rev. George Yff of Christian Reform chapel in Belding officiating 
and interment in River Ridge, Belding.

Funeral services for Mrs. Avis Spencer were Monday in Belding with Rev. George 
Yff officiating and burial in River Ridge cemetery. 

Bearers were Herman Baumgartner, Herman Ostrander, William Nichols, Leo 
Bannister, Bernie Brown and Erval Ring.
