Ionia County News - Thurs. April 25, 1957

Thomas J. Spencer, 53, 7186 Canfield Road, Belding, died Monday night, April 
22, at 11:45 at his home of coronary thrombosis. He has been in ill health 
since December.

Mr. Spencer, a farmer and shop worker, was born in Mecosta County, April 27, 
1903, the son of Loren and Caroline Spencer. He came to Belding from Blanchard 
at the age of 17.

On November 27, 1924, he was married to Lillian McConnell, of Belding, who 
survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carol (Florence) Hall and Mrs. Edward 
(Pauline) Rhodes; and a son, Edward, all of Belding; two sisters, Mrs. Dale 
Dickens, Clifford Lake; and one brother, Ward Spencer, Pontiac. There are six 
grand children.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Fitzjohn Funeral Home in 
Belding with the Rev. 
H. S. Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Green’s Cemetery.
