Mrs. Sarah Cornell Spencer died very suddenly at the home of Mrs. Marcia Rickey
in Orleans Sunday morning.  She was born in Madison county, N.Y., June 15, 1821.
 She came to Ionia with her parents in the fall of 1834 and was therefore one of
the oldest settlers.  She was married to Ezra Spencer December 19, 1839 and for
over twenty years they were residents of Saranac.
