Jesse Spencer died Saturday evening about six o’clock of consumption aged 21
years, and six months.  He fought a battle with the dread disease for more than
a year past but it had gained so strong a hold on him that the best of care and
medical skill could not resist the inevitable.  He went west in search of health
a year ago and had returned last February when his father W.E. Spencer died. 
Before his health gave out he worked for C. M. Kingsley and was a bright and
active young man.  Services were held in the Congregational Church Monday
afternoon, Reverend B.W. Child officiating, and his remains were laid to rest
beside his father in River Ridge cemetery.
