Corey, 64, a former Ionia county resident who was born at Pewamo and lived his boyhood days in Muir and Lyons, died in the Howell sanitarium Tuesday night of tuberculosis. Corey had been treating for the disease since 1926 and was taken for treatment to Howell three months ago. He had treated in California and at Colorado Springs. He was born December 24, 1873, the son of Mr. and Ms. Peleg Corey of Pewamo. Later the family moved to Muir. For 25 years he operated a laundry at Owosso until 1922 when he returned to Muir where he lived four years until afflicted with tuberculosis. Funeral services are to be held from the Jennings-Lyons funeral chapel at Owosso Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be at the Muir cemetery Friday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock. He is survived by the widow and four children, Mrs. Elizabeth Schroen of California, Ralph of California, Dr. Alton Corey of New Troy, and Kenneth of Plymouth, a sister, Mrs. Thomas Jackson of Muir, now in Florida, and two brothers, Will of Florida and Frank of California.
