Spencer, for years a resident of Ionia, and employed in various plumbing shops including the Ionia hardware and the Gableshops, died in Chicago, Ill., November 4, of an illness that began in September. Burial took place at Hammond, Ind. Mr. Spencer was English by birth and learned the plumbing trade in the old country. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal church and one of its faithful workers. The widow, and a daughter, of Duluth, Minn., and a son, of Hammond, Ind., survive.
