Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. March 22, 1965

Robert B. Spidle, DSC, 54, who has been in semi-retirement the past two years 
due to ill health, died suddenly Sunday night at his 215 Rich street home. 
Death was due to a heart ailment for which he had been hospitalized several 
times.

He had been a chiropodist in Ionia the past 22 years and practiced six  years 
in Detroit before returning here.

He was born July 11, 1910 at Ashland, Wis., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert 
Spidle, who later moved to Ionia.

Following his graduation from Ionia high school, he attended a school for 
chiropodists and June 25, 1935 was married to Nell C. Sweet in Indiana.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Robert C. Spidle, Hickam AFB, 
Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Conlin of Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Mary 
Essex of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren; father Albert Spidle of Alma;  one 
sister, Mrs. Richard Kennedy of Minneapolis, Minn.

Funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Boynton funeral 
home with burial in Easton cemetery. The Rev. Lester Bailey will officiate.
