Spidle, 56, native of Ionia and for many years surgical chiropodist, died of a heart ailment at his home in Flint, Monday night. He had been ill with the heart ailment for a number of years. He was the son of Albert Spidle of Alma, former Ionia barber and brother of Dr. Robert Spidle of Ionia. He was born October 15, 1903 at Ashland, Wis., where he lived for 14 years before moving to Ionia with his parents. He was graduated from Ionia high school in 1922. He worked in production at the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company in Ionia for two years, started at Illinois College of Chiropody and Food Surgery in Chicago and earned his degree in two years. He returned to the Ionia factory until 1927 and then opened his Flint office. Dr. Spidle was in the Michigan National Guard for two years and finished as first sergeant of Company H in Ionia. He was a member of the Fellows Scientific Association of Chiropodists, the state and national chiropodists association, the Charles A. Durand lodge 533 F&AM, a past officer of the Optimist club of Flint. He was married to Marcella Dillion of Hudson in 1933. They have two children, Sally Ann and William Charles.
