B. Spidle, 61, died very suddenly from a heart attack Thursday noon at 12:30. She had been in ill health for some time but was able to be around, and she and Mr. Spidle had celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary November 1. She was born in Jackson county, a few miles south of Jackson in 1873, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Cameron. When a small child she moved to St. Louis with her parents. She was married in Muir, November 1, 1897, at the home of Mr. Spidle’s parents. They began housekeeping in Muir, and Mr. Spidle came to Ionia to open a barber shop in 1899, and he and Mrs. Spidle moved to Ashland, Wis., in 1900 and back to Ionia in 1918. For the past 14 years they have resided in their home, 148 East Main street. Surviving are Mr. Spidle, two sisters, Mrs. William Maine of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. F. J. Madar of Alma; three brothers, of Detroit, and three children, Dr. Charles Spidle, of Flint; Mrs. Richard Kennedy, of Chicago, and Robert, of Ionia. Funeral services will be held from the home, 148 East Main street, Saturday afternoon at 2:30, with Rev. H. A. Simpson officiating.
