Dr. Spinney Is Dead, Aged 84, Well Known

For Many years Traveling Physician; Conducted Sanitarium At Smyrna.

Dr. A. B. Spinney, well known throughout Michigan for many years as a traveling 
doctor, and who during his later life located in Belding and Smyrna, operating 
a sanitarium in the only hotel at Smyrna until it burned, died today at his 
home in Ionia, at 220 Adams street, where he had lived for the last year or so.

Dr. Spinney during his active days traveled to about every place in the state, 
making engagements ahead, and building up a large transient business in his 
line.  Even after he opened the Smyrna sanitarium he continued to travel on the 
road, but finally his health gave way and he has been an invalid here.  He is 
survived by his wife and two children, one daughter living at home and the son 
at Alto.  Funeral private Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, interment in 
Highland Park.  He was 84 years of age.
