April 9, 1916. Mrs. Daniel Spire, of Muir, passed to the Great Beyond after long Christian life. Eva Ann Dominick was born at Little Falls, New York, December 8th, 1827, and passed from this life at her home at Muir on April 9, 1916. She united in marriage to Daniel Spire on October 2nd, 1844, and for 64 years they shared the joys and blessings of life together until the bond of wedlock were severed by the death of Mr. Spire on August 17th, 1908, at the ripe old age of 90 years. To this union was given four daughters, Mrs. Angelia Rogers and Mrs. Mary Probosco of Muir; Mrs. Aurelia Hamilton of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Carrie Strahan of Pewamo, all of whom survive to mourn the recent passing of a dearly beloved mother. Besides the daughters before mentioned the deceased leaves to mourn her departure, three grandchildren, Mrs. A. A. Stoddard of Muir; Harry Probosco and James Fox of Grand Rapids; one great-grandchild, Miss Margaret Fox, and a brother, James Dominick, as well as a great host of sorrowing friends and neighbors who have come in daily contact with her on the farm home near Muir, as well as of later years in the village.
