The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, April 10, 1952


Solemn High Mass was sung by the Rev. Fr. John S. Fons at SS. Peter and Paul 
church at 9 a.m. Wednesday for Mrs. Anna Spitzley, 81, who died Saturday 
morning, April 5, at the Ionia Convalescent Home.  The Rev. Fr. Fons was 
assisted by the Rev. Fr. John Hoopdorp and the Rev. Fr. Joseph Demelka.

Prayer services preceded the church service at 8:30 p.m. at Myers funeral 
home.  Bearers were Anthony W. Lewis, William and Anthony J. Spitzley, George 
Goodman and John O’Conner.  Burial was in the family lot, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Attending the services from away were Mrs. Gertrude Hauck and Mr. and Mrs. 
Walter Lee of Flint; Peter Thelen, Mrs. Don Weideman, Mr. and Mrs. Roman 
Schaefer, Mrs. Maude Foley and Mrs. Katherine Moriarity of Lansing; Mr. and 
Mrs. Jon Haufnagel, Mr. and Mrs. John B. Spitzley, Mrs. Mary Martin, Mrs. Clara 
Bengal, Mrs. Katherine Fink, Mrs. John Fink, Mrs. Adam Schaefer and Mrs. Luisa 
Smith of Westphalia; Mrs. Ella Spitzley, Anthony Goodman, Mr. and Mrs. George 
Goodman, Mrs. Elizabeth Pung, Theresa Spitzley and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Spitzley 
of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hauck, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schaefer, Mr. and 
Mrs. Philip Hauck and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Cook of Pewamo; Mr. and Mrs. William 
Blanchard and Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Ellis of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. John Hauck, Mr. 
and Mrs. Harry Hauck, Mr. and Mrs. Regalt Hauck, Mrs. Louis Zeien and Mrs. Carl 
Hauck of Mt. Pleasant; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Motz and Mary Lee of Fowler; Mr. and
