Belding News, 29 Nov 1901

Died, at his home in the First ward last Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Jared Sprague, 
at the ripe old age of 82 years.

Deceased was a devout Christian, an active member of the M.E. church for many 
years past, and was highly respected and esteemed by all who knew him.  he has 
been a resident of Belding for the past eight years and leaves a devoted wife, 
two daughters (Mrs. G.M. Shaw and Miss Isa Sprague of this city), one son (Rev. 
Elmer Sprague of East Jordan), and a wide circle of friends to mourn their loss.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church yesterday at 2 o’clock p.m. 
conducted by Rev. O. E. Carman.  Burial in Otisco cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at the M.E. church at 12:00 o’clock, noon, today, 
attended by the Lady Maccabees in a body.  Burial at Coral.
