Ionia Sentinel, 1 Sep 2001

Mr. Douglas Sprague, 50, of South Ionia, passed away from accidental injuries 
Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001.  He was born the son of Howard and Elna (Cox) Sprague 
on July 24, 1951 in Ionia.

Doug farmed all of his life and was a long-time member of the Ionia Fishing and 
Hunting club.

Surviving are Aunt and Uncles Clinton Sprague of Ionia; Wayne (Alma) Sprague of 
Ionia; Ross Cox of Ionia, and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by his 
father, Howard Sprague in 1987 and his mother, Elna Sprague in 2000.

Visiting hours for Mr. Sprague will be Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001 from 7 p.m. to 
8:30 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Rich Street Chapel, Ionia.  Funeral 
Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Cook Funeral 
Home with Rev. Carol Meeder of First Christian Church of Ionia officiating.  
Interment in Balcom Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of Doug may be made to First Christian Church 
of Ionia Memorial Fund.
