The Ionia Daily Standard, Wednesday, July 8, 1903

Estella, wife of M. L. Sprague, 327 Harter street, died on Tuesday evening at 
6 o’clock.  Funeral service at the home, on tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, 
in charge of Rev. Wm. Brooks Taylor.  Burial in Easton.

Mrs. Eugene Cogswell, who has been here several days, assisting in the care of 
her sister-in-law, Mrs. Melvin Sprague, returned to her home in Lake Odessa 
this morning.

The funeral service for Mrs. Melvin L. Sprague took place at the family home 
on Harter street, yesterday afternoon, there being a good attendance of 
neighbors and friends.  The services were in charge of Rev. Wm. Brooks Taylor, 
pastor of the Church of Christ, of which deceased had been a consistent member 
for twenty-five years.  The singing was by Misses Fanny Yates and Myrtle 
Brooks and Messrs. Horace Peck and Clarence Winchell.  The bearers were two 
sons, Lee and Vern; F. H. Hudson and C. L. Bemis.  Interment was in Easton 
cemetery.

The maiden name of deceased was Estella Annable, a daughter of Wm. Annable, 
long a resident of Easton.  She leaves a husband and four sons to mourn her 
departure.  Two sisters also survive: Mrs. F. H. Hudson, Belding, and Miss 
Elizabeth Annable, Ionia; a brother, Ephraim, lives at Boyne Falls.

Those present from out the city were: Mrs. E. Cogswell, Lake Odessa; Mr. and 
Mrs. F. H. Hudson and daughter, Belding.

She was a good woman, faithful and true in all the relations of life, and her 
memory will long be cherished by the loving friends left to mourn their loss.
