Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Tues. March 28, 1944

A. Lee Sprague, 67, Orange township farmer, died suddenly Tuesday morning at 2 
o'clock in his home in Orange. He was born September 25, 1876, in Easton and 
had lived most of his life in Ionia county. December 15, 1895, he was married 
to Jennie McCord who survives him. He is also survived by nine children, Wesley 
Sprague of Lyons, Lyle Sprague and Richard Sprague at home, Frank Sprague of 
Muskegon, Walter Sprague, with the army air force in England, Mrs. Foster Lake 
of Muir, Mrs. Fred Lehman of Palo, Mrs. Harry Lehman of Ionia and Mrs. James 
Thomas of Howell; 40 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Vern 
Sprague of Hastings and Otis Sprague of Los Angeles, Calif. One daughter, Mrs. 
Henry Head, died December 19, 1933.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Myers 
funeral home. Rev. George Woolcock of the First Baptist church will officiate 
and burial will be in Easton cemetery.
