Death of Silas Sprague-Silas Sprague an early settler and widely known 
resident of Easton, died this morning, of consumption, at the age of 72. He 
was a resident of the county for nearly fifty years, nearly all that time in 
Easton. He was of a genial, social disposition, with a wide circle of friends. 
He has filled many local official positions, being township clerk several 
terms, supervisor once, and county treasurer two terms. He leaves a wife and 
four children: Jerome of California; Mary, wife of Eugene Cogswell of this 
city; Sarah, wife of Supt. Chas. L. Bemis, of this city, and Melvin, of 
Easton. Funeral will be held in Easton Church, at 10:30 Monday; services by 
Rev. W.H. Scott. Interment in Easton Cemetery.
