April 2, 2016 CLINTON "BUD" H. SPRAGUE Clinton "Bud" H. Sprague, age 81, of Bitely, formerly of Saranac, passed away on April 1, 2016. He was born in Ionia, Michigan on Oct. 15, 1934 to Clinton and Julia (Anderson) Sprague. He lived his life in the Saranac area where he married the love of his life, Lois Raimer, on Feb. 19, 1954. He retired from Michigan Reformatory in Ionia, worked for the Ionia County Sheriff's Department and also proudly served out country as a member of the National Guard. Bud enjoyed hunting, trout fishing as well as fishing on Bitely Lake where he lived. Bud mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others. He loved his John Deere and volunteered his time mowing lawns for people who weren't able. Bud was a member of the Bitely Boys, Saranac JC's, was a life member of the Masonic Lodge as well as the AmVets Post 1988 in Baldwin. He will be greatly missed by many. Bud is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois; his daughter Christine (Robert) Parks and son Brian (Dawn) Sprague, both of Saranac; 16 grandchildren; 33 great- grandchildren; his sister Carol (Robert) Hook of Gaylord; his brother Edwin (Karen) Sprague of Ionia; and is black lab Josh. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Sprague, his son Steven Sprague and his great-grandson, Steven. Services for Bud will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Galilee Baptist church 291 Orchard St. Saranac, Michigan 48881 at 11 AM with Pastor James Frank officiating. There will be a luncheon/fellowship hour immediately following at the church. Services will also be held in Bitely, Michigan and are pending at this time.
