The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, March 19, 1985
Rilla V. Sprague, 86, 667 Union Street, Ionia, died early Monday at Ionia 
County Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Clinton County Dec. 13, 1898, the 
daughter of Lenow and Theressia Messer.  She was married to Wesley Sprague in 
1918.  He died in 1964.

She was a retired cook from the Lyons High School hot lunch program and the 
Lyons Village treasurer for 16 years.  A life member of the Lyons Chapter 
Order of the Eastern Star she attended, as a member, the Lyons United 
Methodist Church.

Surviving are one son, Raymond of Lyons; one daughter; Mrs. Beverly Rogers of 
Lyons; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Lyons United Methodist 
Church with Rev. Bette Dobbie officiating.  Burial will be in the Lyons 
Cemetery.  A memorial service by the Lyons chapter Order of Eastern Star will 
be on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. from Hull Memorial Chapel in Lyons.  A memorial 
fund for the Lyons United Methodist Church has been established.  
Contributions may be left at the funeral home.  Visitation will be on Tuesday 
from 7 to 9 p.m.
