                      RICHARD JOHN SPRAGUE 

LYONS-Richard John Sprague age 74 of Lyons passed away at his home January 22, 
2022. He was born May 10, 1947 in Ionia the son of Richard C.and Evelyn A.
(Anderson) Sprague. Richard attended Portland Public Schools graduating with the 
class of 1965. He later attended Lansing Community College. 

Richard served in the Naval Reserves.He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he 
proudly served on active duty from 1965 to 1969. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. 
He married Lorene L. Lumbert March 20, 1971 together they raised three children. 
Richard worked at General Motors in Lansing as an Electrician for many years 
before retiring.

He was a member of LeValley United Methodist Church, Portland VFW and UAW 652.

Surviving Richard are his loving wife of 50 years Lorene Sprague of Lyons, 
Children Richard John (Deborah) Sprague Jr., Michele Denise-Sprague (Michael) 
Ransom and Aaron Christopher (Stephanie) Sprague. Grandchildren; Zachary, 
Evelyn, Megan,Julie and Isabella. Sister Janice Kay (Clyde) Taylor. Many nieces 
and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers,Robert and Phillip.

Funeral services for Richard will be at LeValley United Methodist Church 
Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating.

Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Muir. Visitation will be at the church on 
Wednesday 11 a.m. un til the time of services.Those wishing may make memorial 
contributions to LeValley United Methodist Church of Spectrum Health Hospice.
