She was born June 13, 1874 in Chicago, Illinois and lived the early part of her life in that vicinity. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sprank and when she was still a young girl she moved to Ionia where she was employed for a time at the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company. She later married Glenn Sprague on December 19, 1924 and the couple had made their home on a farm in Berlin township since that time. Surviving are the husband, Glenn, seven step-children, Clinton, Howard, Ivan, Russell, Glenn Jr., F. Wayne and Francis, all of Ionia; eight step- grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Albert Krueger of Ionia. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Stone funeral home on East Washington street. Rev. R. A. Rook of the St. John’s Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be at Balcom cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Saturday, November 22, 1941 Services for Mrs. Bertha Sprague, wife of Glenn Sprague of Berlin township, who died at her home Tuesday evening were held at 1:30 Friday afternoon from the Stone funeral home in Ionia. Rev. R. A. Rook, pastor of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church, was the officiating clergyman. Interment was at Balcom cemetery. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Harold Harwood and Mrs. Harry Youngs, and the bearers were Clinton Sprague, Howard Sprague, Russell Sprague, Glenn Sprague, Jr. and Francis Sprague. Persons attending the funeral from out of town were Dr. J. C. and L. Verne Sprague of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Clayton Sible and Miss Wanda Sible of Flint, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Larson of Grand Ledge, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Lowery of Saranac, Mr. and Mrs. George Lowrey of Saranac, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Reeder and Miss Carol Ruth Reeder of Fenwick.
