Death has again visited our home and taken from us a daughter and sister, 
Nora.  Nora M. Sprague was born in Orleans township, April 4, 1876 and died at 
the home of her mother in Belding, Sunday, July 2, 1911.  At an early age she 
chose her vocation in life, expressing her desire to become a teacher, and 
fitted herself in the Ionia High School, for that work.  For seventeen years 
she followed her chosen vocation, the last seven years having been spent as 
teacher in the third grade of the Belding city schools.  One of her 
characteristics was thoroughness and her work as teacher brought forth the 
highest commendation from both the school board and parents.

At the age of fifteen years she gave her heart to God and from that time until 
her death had a firm trust in His power to save and keep, taking him into her 
life as an inspiration both in the home and with those with whom she came in 
contact in her daily work.

Shortly after the beginning of her last year’s work her health began to fail 
and that dread disease sugar diabetes developed, and although all that medical 
skill could do, was done, it was of no avail. She was taken to her bed on 
Friday, June 30, and passed away July 2, at ten o’clock in the forenoon.

The funeral exercise were held at Woodard lake church on Wednesday, July 5, 
conducted by Rev. J. W. Sheehan and Rev. G. W. Maxwell and her remains were 
laid to rest beneath a bank of flowers by the side of her father in Woodard 
lake cemetery.
