Maxine Lucille Sprank, of Muir, age 90, loving mother and grandmother, 
passed away on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008.

She was born on July 31, 1918 in Ionia, the daughter of Lawrence and Lottie 
(Wiles) Ries. Mrs. Sprank graduated from Ionia High School and married 
Harold Sprank on Aug. 14, 1937. She worked for 22 years for Reynolds IGA in 
Muir and also for Fred's Supermarket in Ionia until her retirement. She was 
a 50 year member and Pianist for the First Christian Church of Muir. She 
truly enjoyed looking after her friends and neighbors, crocheting, cooking 
and baking. She currently resided at the Laurels of Carson City and has been 
there since April of 2008. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold Sprank on May 10, 
2001; 2 brothers, Hubert and Gordon and grandson Christopher Sprank.

Surviving are her 4 sons, Gary (Kathy) Sprank and Larry Sprank, both of 
Burnsville, N.C., Terry (Marian) Sprank of Stanton and Wendell ( Evelyn) 
Sprank of Illinois; 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and sister, 
Marilyn Hanline.

The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Harger, Pastor at 
2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich 
Street, Ionia. Interment will follow at a later date at Balcom Cemetery. The 
family will receive friends at the funeral from 12 p.m. until the time of 
the service on Monday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be 
made to the Laurels of Carson City, in memory of Mrs. Maxine L. Sprank.
