Ionia Sentinel, 16 Sep 1966

Max Sprout of 206 David highway, born March 4, 1897 in Portland, passed away 
Thursday evening after a two week illness at Belding Osteopathic hospital.

He has been a resident of Saranac the past 15 years.  A construction worker, he 
married Effie Jenks November 15, 1918.

He is survived by his wife, Effie; one son, Mitchell of Saranac, and one step 
son, Russell Hansen, of Grand Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Jenson of 
Saranac and Mrs. Theora Fuller of route 3 Saranac; 13 grandchildren and 22 
great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at Morris-Roetman funeral home Monday at 4 p.m.  
Burial will be in Saranac cemetery with Rev. James Frank officiating.
