Addie had been suffering from an attack of the measles which were among the children of the family and was getting along all right, although the attack was very severe and there was not the smallest portion of her body that was not affected. However, on Thursday the disease took a turn and left the surface of the body and penetrated it. The disease produced congestion of the lungs and Addie became rapidly worse. A council of physicians was held Friday afternoon but it was then too late to stay the ravages of the disease. Deceased was 16 years of age, was a native of Portland and had always resided here. Funeral services were conducted from her late home on Monday afternoon last by Rev. Stevens and burial made in Portland cemetery.
