Staffen, 63, of Belding, died Friday evening, Jan. 20, 2006, in the emergency room of Spectrum Health United Memorial United Campus, Greenville. She was born in Greenville on Dec. 9, 1942, the daughter of Marshall F. and Helen L. Martin Hopkins. She was married for 40 years to Larry D. Staffen. They wed on March 6, 1965, and renewed their wedding vows on their 25th anniversary in 1990. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her mother on May 19, 2000, and her father on June 15, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Larry; their children, Larry and Audrey Staffen of Fenwick, Helen and Patrick Cooper of Howard City, Shelley and Ronald Pohl of Charlotte; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Lakota Staffen, Samantha Cooper, Sheila Pohl; brother, James and Karen Hopkins of Greenville; sister, Janette and Mike Roger, of Greenville; nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Ida Meddler of Greenville, Dorothy Bower of Texas. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hurst Funeral home, Greenville, with the Rev. Ken Harger officiating. Burial is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
