Ionia Standard - Friday, April 12, 1883

                              Drowned
Two more deaths by drowning to be added this week to the already sadly long 
list of the past few weeks. On Monday the wife of Adam Stahle, who resides on 
Center street, during the absence of her husband and while closely occupied 
with her domestic duties, for a short time lost sight of her four-year-old son. 
Upon going to the cistern for water she there discovered him on the bottom. He 
was soon got out and Dr. Webster was called, but life was extinct. He was said 
to have been an unusually bright and active child of his age. The funeral took 
place from the house yesterday.
