OBITUARY
Jane McMannis-Stair

Jane McMannis was born in Wayne county, Ohio, March 17, 1837 and died sept. 18, 
1908 at the home of her daughter, Mrs.James Briggs at Fowler, Mich. at the age 
of 71 years, 5mo, and 23 days.

She was first united in marriage to William Crall. To this union was born one 
daughter who tenderly cared for her mother during her recent illness.after the 
death of her first husband she married John Stair of Paulding county,Ohio.

She with her husband came to this place from Fowler, Mich., in 1888 residing 
here until the death of Mr.Stair about six years ago, when she went to live with 
her daughter Mrs.James Briggs at Fowler.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of the U.B. Church at this place for a 
number of years, also a member of the Woman's Relief Corps of the V.O. Bretz 
Post of Lake Odessa.

Deceased bore her suffering with a Christian fortitude and died with her faith 
strong in the Master, She leaves one daughter, Mrs.James Briggs of Fowler,and 
four step-children, Andrew and Samuel Stair of Saranac, Mary Bidlock of Oakwood, 
Ohio Mr. Elnora Helmer of Lake City and a large circle of friends to mourn her 
departure.

The remains were brought here last day for burial, the funeral being at the U.B. 
Church, Rev. Bick officiating.
