The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the U.B. church. Rev. Durler will preach the sermon, to be assisted by Rev. Wilcox. The remains will be interred in Lakeside cemetery. The entire service will be under the direction of the G.A.R., of which order Mr. Stair was a member. Mr. Stair was born in Portage county, Ohio, on October 31, 1833. On May 2, 1857, he was married to Miss Nancy Hoover in Paulding county, Ohio. To their union six children were born, three boys and three girls; four of the children, two boys and two girls survive the parents, all being married. His first wife died on February 19, 1872, and in September of the same year he was again married, then to Miss Jane McMannus of Paulding county, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Stair moved to Michigan in 1876 and settled on a farm near Portland. They moved to this village about 12 years ago, and have lived here ever since. They made a great many friends and were held in high esteem. Mrs. Stair feels severely the loss of her husband, and is in poor health to stand the shock. Mr. Stair served his country in the war of the rebellion, and at the time of his death was drawing a pension of $12 per month.
