Ionia Sentinel Standard, 11 Oct 1966

George Wesley Staley, 86, route 1 Staley road, died late Monday at the 
Edgewater Convalescent home in Detroit following a long illness.  He had been a 
patient since July 19.  He was born August 5, 1880 on a farm south of Lyons, 
which he had owned since the death of his parents.  He was the son of Charles 
and Lucinda Maria Bauder Staley.

Married Iva Green on June 23, 1909 and she died in June of 1961.  He then 
married Anna Smith of Cascade in 1963.

He was a Lyons high school graduate and attended business college in New York.  
Mr. Staley was a retired farmer, a member of the Lyons Methodist church and a 
50 years member and past worshipful master of Lyons lodge 37 F&AM.  Also a life 
member of Ionia commandery 11.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Staley, and daughter, Helen L. Staley of 
Detroit.

The body will be at the Stone-Kauffman funeral home until Wednesday noon when 
it will be taken to Lyons Methodist church for services at 2 p.m.  Masonic 
graveside services under auspices Lyons lodge 37 F&AM.  Burial will be in Lyons 
cemetery and Rev. Lester Bailey will officiate.
