Portland Observer, 31 Jan 1883

Mrs. Mary Staley, mother of Henry V., Chas. and Wm . Staley of Lyons township, 
died Tuesday night at the home of the first mentioned son, in the village of 
Muir, aged 81 years.  Mrs. Staley was born in Montgomery county, New York, and 
has resided in Muir since 1857.  She was universally esteemed by all who knew 
her.  Funeral services were held yesterday at one o’clock p.m.
