Thomas H. Stanley, died at her home, 319 North Jefferson Street, Saturday morning. She was born in Ronald Township December 27, 1892, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Normington. She attended Little Brick School, graduated from Ionia High School in 1912, and from Michigan State College in 1916. After teaching for a period at Fenton, Mrs. Stanley took postgraduate work at Chicago University. She then taught at Meredith College, Raleigh, N. C. and at the University of Iowa. Following her marriage to Col. Stanley, she lived at various army bases in the United States and abroad. In 1942 she came to Ionia to live while her husband was overseas. He was killed in Italy in 1944 and Mrs. Stanley had lived in Ionia since. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. W. W. Pixley Tuesday at 2:30 pm at the Stone-Kauffman funeral home. Entombment will be at Highland Park Mausoleum. She is survived by two sisters, Clara Normington and Mrs. Gerald Dikmans, of Ionia, and two brothers, Joseph H. Normington of Dearborn and Ray Normington of Ionia.
