E. Stanley, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Culver of this village, died at her home at South Boardman, Mich., on the 16th inst., of pneumonia, aged 35 years. The remains were brought to Portland on Tuesday evening and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Geo. Knox, where funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. D. E. Millard. Many of the former schoolmates of Mrs. Stanley attended the services. Deceased leaves a husband and two bright and interesting children – a boy and a girl – besides many friends in this, her former home, to mourn her loss. She was a former schoolmate of the writer, who remembers her as a lovable girl, who was always popular with her schoolmates because of her pleasant ways and amiable disposition when among them. All will sympathize particularly with the mother of the deceased, she having, within a comparatively short time followed two daughters to their final resting place in our beautiful cemetery, Mrs. Freeman Shotwell having preceded Mrs. Stanley to the unknown beyond but a short time before.
