July 5, 1957 Alfred Warner Stanton, 59, of 213 ½ West Main street, died at the Ionia County Memorial hospital Thursday afternoon after suffering a heart attack in an Ionia restaurant a few hours previous. He was a lifelong resident of Ionia county, being born January 7, 1898 in Orange township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stanton. For about 25 years he was employed at the Ionia Pottery Works until it went out of business. He has been employed at the Ionia Manufacturing Co. for the past three years. Surviving are a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at the Myers funeral home, Saturday, July 6 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Heath Goodwin officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Tuttle cemetery. (Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard Mon. July 8, 1957) Alfred W. Stanton Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday for Alfred W. Stanton who died at the Ionia County Memorial hospital Thursday evening. The services were conducted y the Rev. Heath Goodwin at the Myers funeral home. Interment was in Tuttle cemetery. Bearers were Roy Anderson, Glen Gallup Jr., Lawrence Bogert, Ernest Rayno, Lewis Fox and James Bignell. Attending from out of town were Lewis Fox of Carson City, Charles Fox and Mrs. Thelma Rayno of Owosso and Max Fox and Mrs. Carrie Gallup of Flushing.
