Ionia County News - Thursday, March 8, 1956

John D. Stanton, 62, died Monday evening, March 5, at his home in Easton 
Township. He was born February 24, 1894. He had been employed at the Ionia 
State Hospital since 1924, as an electrician foreman, and had lived in Ionia 
forty years.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, two sons, Virgil of Easton and Gene of 
Ionia; two daughters, Mary of Easton and Leona Fashburn of Ionia; two sisters, 
Mrs. Hazel McLain of Royal Oak and Mrs. Mabel Cook of Cadillac; two brothers, 
Forrest of Ionia and Claude of Mesick. 

Rev. George L. Rentachler of the Presbyterian Church will officiate at the 
funeral service Thursday afternoon, March 8, at two o'clock, from Myers Funeral 
Home. Burial in Balcom cemetery.
